Prisma Health Pediatrics–Greer

As part of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, we work closely with our local pediatric subspecialists so we can provide more complete and integrated care for the children in the Greer area, including the highest level of pediatric inpatient care in the Upstate.

Many things have changed in our 50+ years of serving our community, including our name, but our dedication to Greer area children has remained steadfast. Our stand-alone facility on the Greer campus was built in 2019. With this initiative, healthcare in Greer has become more accessible for your child. We make it a priority to provide quality, compassionate, convenient care for our patients and are open six days a week with same-day sick appointments.

We offer personalized, comprehensive, high-quality care, including the following:

• Well-baby exams.
• Well-child and well-adolescent exams.
• Sports physicals.
• Immunizations.
• Treatment for chronic issues such as:
  • ADHD.
  • Allergies.
  • Anxiety/depression.
  • Asthma.
  • Autism.
  • Chronic sinus and ear infections/issues.
  • Down syndrome and rare genetic syndromes.
  • Obesity.
  • Reflux.
  • Skin conditions.
• Diagnostic testing and screenings, including:
  • Rapid strep, flu, mononucleosis (“mono”) and RSV tests.
  • Urine testing.
  • Hearing and vision screening.
  • Screening for anemia, diabetes and cholesterol/triglycerides.
  • Screening for developmental and psychiatric issues such as ADHD, autism and adolescent or postpartum depression.
  • Allergy testing via blood work.
  • Tympanometry (inner ear testing).

Our providers support the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations on all required and recommended vaccinations for children.

Availability seven days a week. A provider from Prisma Health Pediatrics – Greer is on call seven days a week. In addition, we schedule same-day sick visits and have appointments Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Our physicians are also available Saturday mornings from 8–11:30 a.m. for urgent sick visits.

Phone-a-nurse service. Each day, specific nurses are designated to answer parents’ calls. As a result, your call will be returned promptly. If the nurse and parent determine your child needs to see a physician, we will schedule a visit for the same day.

After-hours pediatric nurse triage. If your child becomes sick or injured after hours, call our office and speak to an on-call physician or a Children’s Hospital emergency pediatric nurse. Depending on the situation, the nurse can:

• Offer recommendations for parents to treat the child at home
• Make your child an appointment with their regular pediatrician for the next morning
• Request the parent bring the child to the Children’s Emergency Center at Greenville Memorial Hospital
• Page the Prisma Health Pediatrics – Greer physician on call.
• Direct you to our pediatric after-hours clinic.

MyChart. Through Prisma Health’s MyChart, you can access your child’s medical records including immunization records, lab results, visit summaries, and medications. You can also schedule acute sick appointments and cancel any appointment up to a day in advance. MyChart can be accessed via computer or through an app on your phone.

Prenatal consultations. Expecting parents are welcome to schedule a free prenatal interview with one of our providers. Meet and greet interviews for parents interested in our practice are also available. Please note that the prenatal visit is not required for you to choose us as your pediatrician upon delivery.

Newborn care. In the hospital immediately after your baby is born, newborn care will be provided by Prisma Health newborn hospitalists. These hospitalists are dedicated to newborn care and will manage any needs of your new baby. They will be present on-site 24 hours, seven days a week, and will evaluate your baby’s progress regularly during your hospital stay.

When your baby is ready to go home, the hospitalist team will help you arrange follow-up care with us in the office. At that time, we will have access to your baby’s newborn care and medical information via Prisma Health’s electronic medical records system. We are excited to meet your new arrival in our office.

We happily accept newborns from non-Prisma Health hospitals and routinely see babies from all the area hospitals, including St. Francis Health System, Mary Black Hospital, and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Be sure to let the hospital staff know that you plan to use Pediatric Associates – Greer as your baby’s pediatrician.

We participate in the Quality through Technology and Innovation in Pediatrics (QTIP) program.

An initiative of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, the program works to improve healthcare for children in South Carolina by working on quality measures and incorporating mental health into a medical home.

Started in 2010 under a federal grant, this program brings practices together to collaborate on specific measures and foster quality improvement projects at each practice site.

The program seeks to:

• Improve children’s quality care measures.
• Improve child care through peer-to-peer measures amongst other pediatricians.
• Focus on the mental well-being of children.
• Integrate the patient-centered medical home model of care (PCMH).

We are proud to partner with Reach Out and Read by making age-appropriate books available to patients at their well-child visits, from birth to age 5. We encourage families to take the books home and read aloud together.

Our goal is to stimulate early language and brain development and give young children a foundation for success.

• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete a few forms.
• Bring insurance card and photo ID (such as a driver's license).
• Bring all medications you are currently taking.
• If you must cancel your appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance.
