Metabolic Bone Health Program

The Metabolic Bone Health Program at Prisma Children’s Hospital–Upstate offers thorough evaluation and care for all children with diminished bone density.

Children can present with weak bones because of genetic conditions, long-term steroid use, inability to be mobile or due to nutritional issues among other conditions. 

Our center works in a multidisciplinary fashion to ensure that our patients receive the specific evaluation, DXA scans, treatment and monitoring that they need according to standard of care guidelines.
